Welcome to
Farley Arts Trust
Rooted in the unique surrealist legacy of Lee Miller and Roland Penrose the Farley Arts Trust was established over twenty years ago to inspire and engage young people in the visual arts and bring them and their art works together in collaborative exhibitions and activities.
Every year we offer opportunities for East Sussex based young people that are designed to introduce them to the world of visual arts beyond the classroom. This includes exhibitions, workshops, talks, visits, performances, awards and bursaries.
Farley Arts Trust was originally founded by Anthony Penrose through the artistic legacy of his parents; the prominent Surrealist artists Roland Penrose and Lee Miller, who worked and lived at Farleys House in Chiddingly, East Sussex amongst their friends and peers - many of whom are now regarded as the most significant Surrealist and Modernist artists, poets and writers of the 20th

The opportunities we offer students in the local area are made possible through support from charitable trusts, arts organisations, local societies, government grants, sponsorship from companies, donations and legacies from individuals as well as the expertise and voluntary work of the Trustees. In recent years crucial funding has included grants from Wealden District Council, The Chalk Cliff Trust and The Band Trust. The Trust also receives continuing and invaluable support from the staff of Farleys House & Gallery.
