Who can enter?

Students studying Art at GCSE, A Level or Post-16 Level 3 Creative & Applied Pathways at state East Sussex schools and colleges.

What Categories are there?

Painting, Sculpture/3D, Mixed Media/2D, Works on Paper, Photography, Textiles and Sketch Books. There are also Special Surrealism Awards and the Sylvia Tidy Award.

What Do I Need to Submit for each artwork?

  • Completed Artwork Form
  • High-quality JPEG image (minimum 300 dpi)
  • Student artist statement (maximum 50 words)

When Is the Deadline?

All entries must be submitted by the dates provided on the Wonderfully Surreal or Trusts and Exhibition dates. Early submission is recommended as exhibition space is limited.

What Happens If My Work Is Selected?

Selected artworks will be exhibited at the Lee Miller Gallery at Farleys Farmhouse, Chiddinglye. Students will receive a certificate, have their work featured in the exhibition catalogue and be invited to the Awards Presentation Ceremony.

How do i know if my school is eligible?

If your school is a state school and based in East Sussex it will be eligible for entry. Students can participate if they are studying the following courses: GCSE, A-Level and Level 3 Creative & Applied Pathways.

Are these competitions open to homeschooled students?

Yes they are.  The student or homeschool group must be based in East Sussex. Students can participate if they are studying the following courses: GCSE, A-Level and Level 3 Creative & Applied Pathways.
